We are a small studio. Most of our work begins with a system: a catalogue, a grid, a set of rules that outlives the first application. The results are published here in the order they were made.

Nordlyn was founded in 2018 and has stayed at four people since. We take on between eight and twelve projects a year, which is roughly the number we can finish properly.

Work usually starts with a week of reading. We would rather spend that week understanding a catalogue, an archive or a production constraint than presenting three directions in the first meeting.
